Synopsis:
Award-winning author Tiffany D. Jackson delivers another riveting, ripped-from-the-headlines mystery that exposes horrific secrets hiding behind the limelight and embraces the power of a young woman’s voice.
When legendary R&B artist Korey Fields spots Enchanted Jones at an audition, her dreams of being a famous singer take flight. Until Enchanted wakes up with blood on her hands and zero memory of the previous night. Who killed Korey Fields?
Before there was a dead body, Enchanted’s dreams had turned into a nightmare. Because behind Korey’s charm and star power was a controlling dark side. Now he’s dead, the police are at the door, and all signs point to Enchanted.
MY REVIEW:
Tiffany! You have snatched my wig…once again! There’s so much to unpack here and I cannot wait for the read a long discussion. This book is one that everyone needs to read as it it thought provoking and engaging. The pace was perfect. Many of the read a long members couldn’t stop reading once they started.
You’ve done it again…effortlessly. Your ability to weave social issues into YA while still writing an enthralling tale that adults can relate to and discuss is outstanding!
Let me tell you… just as in My Dark Vanessa so many people failed Enchanted when it came to predator/pedophile Korey Fields. I could go through a list and describe everyone’s contribution but then again it’s easy to discuss and call out when you are on the outside looking in. It just leaves me to wonder how often are we silent assistants to such crimes? After reading both books, I can say that I am more aware and more willing to open my mouth. I have no problem tattling especially when it comes to shit like this. I can’t tell you how many times I wanted to snatch Korey’s grimey ass up and hang him by his balls. Nasty sick @#%$!
Again if you’ve never read a Tiffany Jackson book, what are you waiting on?
